COL Resolution No. 03-02 A COUNCIL OF LEADERS’ RESOLUTION
AFFIRMING APL’S COMMITMENT TO INITIATE OR PARTICIPATE IN GLOBAL DAYS
OF ACTION AWARE,
that the labor movement, since its very inception, has always been an
internationalist movement and that international days of solidarity have
played a prominent part of the labor movement; KNOWING,
that in a globalized world, the struggle of the working people at the
national level cannot be divorced from its struggles at the international
level; CONSCIOUS,
that the APL has initiated or participated in a number of global days of
action including fully mobilizing during May Day; MINDFUL,
that its Affiliates, on their own or through their respective Global
Unions, have adopted resolutions encouraging their members to participate
in various forms of activities during selected global days of action; RESOLVED, THEREFORE, TO AFFIRM THE APL’S COMMITMENT TO CONTINUE, INITIATE OR PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES ON THE FOLLOWING GLOBAL ACTIONS DAYS: 1. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY (8 MARCH) 2. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF COMMEMORATION FOR ALL WHO DIED IN ACCIDENTS AT WORK (28 APRIL) 3. INTERNATIONAL LABOR DAY (1 MAY) 4. WORLD TOURISM DAY (27 SEPTEMBER) 5. WORLD FOOD DAY (16 OCTOBER) 6.
INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY (10 DECEMBER) DONE
